Patana and Shrewsbury took to the field with a mixture of youth and experience. The game started brightly with both teams playing some attractive, passing football. Shrewsbury threatened down the left but Patana defended well. The Tigers took the lead in the 20th minute with a well worked goal. Pranai broke out from defence and received the ball back from Will Reynolds to score from close range. The lead was doubled just before half time when Benson beat two defenders and coolly chipped the ball over the advancing goal keeper.
Half time Patana Tigers 2 – Shrewsbury 0
The second half started much like the first with both teams competing hard and playing some excellent passing football. A mix up in the Shrewsbury defence allowed Albert De Kler to score into an empty net to make it 3-0. Alex Rendell completed an excellent move with a great finish into the bottom corner to make the final score 4-0.
Well played to both teams. The game was played in an excellent spirit with no yellow cards. The youngsters are gaining a lot of valuable experience. |
